I am a Virgo and my partner is a Cancer. We have been dating since July 17, 2003. We both came out of relationships where the other partner cheated. I am Canadian and he is Portuguese. We both own our own homes etc. but I end up spending most of my time at his place. Okay,enough history. The question is: is this relationship going anywhere other then where it is? Well done! You asked that like a true Virgo, Deanna! Just the facts, what's the bottom line? I notice in your question that you don't even make any mention of how you feel about this man. You have to remember, this is a relationship, not a balance sheet. You Virgos often tend to approach your relationships with a checklist, checking to see which standards and expectations your partner lives up to and where they fall short. I suspect your Cancer is a fairly kind and compassionate man. And since you find yourself spending most of your time in his home, you obviously must enjoy his company and value your time with him, especially after getting out of a bad relationship in which you were obviously hurt. Seeing that this is the case, how can it possibly be a waste of your time? If you're in a loving relationship where you're enjoying yourself and feeling that the person you're engaged with makes you a better and happier and more fulfilled person, then it's never a waste of time, whether it ever leads to the altar or not. So remember to loosen up and enjoy what you've got while you can!

My husband is Dr. Jekyll in front of others and Mister Hyde when we're alone. He arrogantly disses things I do, talks about himself constantly but cuts me off when I try to talk; expects me to be his mother, chauffeur, secretary... I feel trapped and controlled. He claims our relationship problems are the result of my depression that he's put up with a lot, that it's me who needs to put out the olive branch. I want to leave and am having a real tough time. Any insights?

Oh, it's always good to hear from another one of the many long-suffering Pisces out there! You Pisces do "suffering" better than any sign of the zodiac. And no matter how much of it you do, you always seem to be ready to come back for more. It sounds like that's what's been happening in your marriage. You've basically made it clear that your husband has no respect for you, constantly mistreats you and that you're miserable. So what's the problem? The problem is that subconsciously you may think he's right, and that maybe you deserve this sort of treatment. But you have to realize that this is an irrational response on your part. You don't deserve to be in this kind of bad situation with someone who doesn't respect or appreciate you. Once you quit beating yourself up and accept the fact that you deserve better, then you'll finally be ready to do what's best for you!
