When it comes to reading Tarot cards there's no such thing as the luck of the draw. That's because our California Psychics believe that it is the universe that picks the cards - not them. Even after decades of experience, our psychics who use the Tarot as a divination tool tell us that they are still amazed at the layers of understanding the cards bring to each reading. In fact, they are continually blown away by the cards' accuracy.

Every reader uses the Tarot, in a way that is personal and specific to them, our psychics say. And, of course, it depends on the reader as to just how accurate a tool it is. It's a psychic stimulant for awakening and clarifying the senses," reveals Debra ext. 9596 , who after 31 years of studying and reading cards is still learning it's secrets. Lucrecia ext. 9326 who prefers to use the Rider-Waite brand of Tarot, calling the deck "infinite wisdom contained in 78 cards," describes similar experiences in her readings. "After being presented with a question, my mind begins to open to the unknown as I lay out the cards. Once those gates open, the visions begin to manifest into clear pictures of the past, present and future, as well as people places and things."

Verbena ext. 9615 uses the Voyager Tarot, along with Celtic Runes to access her psychic doorways. "I also use my guides and clairvoyance when a caller just has ten minutes to get their answer," she adds. If they have more time, she may bring astrology into the mix.

"The Tarot to me is like a jigsaw puzzle," says Andy ext. 9583, a psychic who describes the cards as his key to the unknown. As the cards are turned, the big picture takes shape, for me. People think of the Tarot as a random tool, but the Tarot is clearly affected by the user. The reader's vibrations or aura are instilled into the cards as they are shuffled and used. Personally I don't begin using a new deck until I have been carrying it around with me for at least a month."

The energy of the person or situation attracts certain cards, tells Laura ext. 9555 who also is in awe of the Tarot's accuracy. "What I do is interpret the cards the universe has picked." She believes this to be the reason that the Tarot is such an accurate tool in predicting outcomes. Her accuracy, she says, is 85% with a 15% margin for error. The psychic adds that a person receiving a Tarot reading has to be willing to put something in it, in order to get something out of it.

"According to my clients, the accuracy of my Tarot readings is 85-90% on target," adds Lucrecia, who began reading the cards at four years of age. "I respect the advice of the Tarot as I would listen to the advice of any spirit guides."

Learning the Tarot is no mean feat, tells Debra, about "the wonderful, profound and somewhat mysterious cards… " she was introduced to at age 16. "First, I memorized the meanings of all the cards both upright and reversed. After working with them for while I decided I would unlearn all the prescribed meanings and let the Tarot speak to me. I went to bed every night with a tarot card hanging before my face from a string attached to the ceiling. I would record my dreams about the card. In this way I developed a deeply personal relationship with the card."

"You can add even more levels of understanding by learning which astrological elements, signs and planets are assigned to the various cards - and even see how it works with Kabbalah," describes Verbena about the intense and complicated journey the cards can provide the reader.

The Tarot has been passed down from so many ancient scholars, different civilizations and wisdoms that there's really no way to demystify how it works - it just does. "My interpretation may be different from someone else's, but we may both be right. It's a liquid way of looking at life…and that's why I love it!"
